Last week, Top Gear debuted its second episode of the new season, featuring a mile-long drag race between two of the most sought after supercars in recent history. Behind the wheel of the 1001 horsepower Bugatti Veyron: Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond. Behind the wheel of the 627 horsepower McLaren F1: The Stig. The race took place on a very dry, closed stretch of road in Abu Dhabi.

If you just look at the power figures, you might think that the Veyron would outright crush the F1. However, the F1 weighs significantly less than the Veyron, roughly 1651 lbs. (749 kg)

We won’t spoil the surprise, so watch the full video here and tell us if the race turned out the way you thought it would.

Here’s a fantastic challenge that the Top Gear team didn’t think up: if you walked around London dressed as the Stig, how many strangers would let you drive their cars? Aussie comedy show The Chaser’s War on Everything went to London to find out, in an attempt to find a cheaper way to travel. What ensued was a guy in a bad Stig getup poaching transport from a few Brits — and it only got better from there.

The Stig has revealed himself to Top Gear’s live studio audience. Maybe. Watch the video below:

Ah, viral marketing. We have this modern form of guerilla advertising to thank for so many funny You Tube videos. The latest comes courtesy of Red Bull via its Red Bull Racing NASCAR team. The pit crew along with driver Brian Vickers were forced to pit in an unusual location this week when the car required a tire change outside of the McDonald’s in Times Square. Hey, when a driver needs new rubber, he needs new rubber, tourists be damned. so the RBR pit crew performed a full donut swap right there on the street in Times Square. Hundreds of onlookers stood in amazement at the site of a car actually finding a space to park in Times Square, even it was for only 20.6 seconds

Here’s another clip of the UK television show that features not just one enthusiast car – but two cars, Ford’s stonking new Focus RS and the Mitsubishi Evolution X. Better still, the fearsome twosome tangle on the track in a pair of tests with hot shoes Tiff Needell and BTCC champion Jason Plato at the wheel.
